Targeted Solicitations

NCI issues targeted grant solicitations with specific focus areas. The receipt dates for these opportunities may or may not align with the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR)/Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) standard receipt dates (i.e., January 5, April 5, and September 5), so please read the solicitation carefully before applying.

 

Current Solicitations

• Notice of Special Interest (NOSI): RNA Delivery Technologies to Allow Specific Tissue Target Homing (RNA-DASH)(NOT-AI-24-007): The purpose of this notice of special interest (NOSI) for Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) grants (Phase 1 or Phase 2) is to advance and accelerate the future clinical translation of RNA-based therapeutics to treat or prevent human diseases using non-viral technologies. To accomplish this goal, the NOSI will support the pre-clinical testing and evaluation of non-viral technologies to deliver RNA-based therapeutics or RNA-based vaccines to disease-relevant somatic cells and tissues in vivo.

• Utilization of Cohorts and Prospective Study Designs for Liquid Biopsy Assay Validation for Early Detection of Cancers (NOT-CA-23-004): The goal of the funding opportunity is to facilitate early cancer biomarker assay development, verification, qualification, and validation utilizing statistically powered retrospective cohorts and/or through prospective studies in the appropriate populations with a sound study design.

• Notice of Special Interest (NOSI): National Cancer Institute Entrepreneurial Education Programs to Facilitate Commercialization of Cancer Relevant Technologies (NOT-CA-24-001): This Notice of Special Interest (NOSI) from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) serves to encourage applications for entrepreneurial education programs that are aimed at developing the skillset of graduate students and postdoctoral researchers, as well as early-career master’s, PhD, MD, MD/PhD, and DrPH scientists, in fields relevant to the NCI mission. 
• SBIR Technology Transfer (NOT-NS-22-017) (R43/R44 Clinical Trial Not Allowed): This targeted funding opportunity aims to help move commercially-viable technologies from the NIH Intramural Program to the marketplace.

• Women’s Health Research (NOT-OD-24-079): In alignment with the White House Initiative on Women’s Health Research, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) is issuing this Notice of Special Interest to highlight interest in receiving research applications focused on diseases and health conditions that predominantly affect women.
