Translational Funding Opportunities

National Cancer Institute (NCI) Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Development Center is holding a virtual information session at 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm EST on Tuesday June 27, 2023 on translational funding opportunities designed for biotech innovators.
NCI SBIR Director Michael Weingarten and Program Director Jonathan Franca-Koh will provide a detailed overview on funding opportunities, application tips, and other commercialization resources that biotechnology researchers can use to advance their projects.
This event will also highlight the Small Business Transition Grant, an opportunity that assists postdoctoral researchers who participated in technology discovery during their academic work and are now ready to move to a small business. The technology must fit into at least one of the following categories:
- Therapeutics and preventive agents
- Imaging technologies, interventional devices, and in vivo diagnostics
- In vitro and ex vivo diagnostics and prognostics
Following the presentation, selected attendees will have a chance to meet one-on-one virtually with NCI SBIR program staff to discuss their cancer technology project and funding eligibility.
