The NCI SBIR/STTR Training and Entrepreneurship Program (NCI STEP) application period will open on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, for innovators interested in Phase I SBIR/STTR application support and entrepreneurship training. 

This 2-stage, 16-week program will provide structured training and customized assistance for participants to:

  • Enhance their understanding of customer discovery
  • Learn grant writing techniques to develop more competitive funding applications
  • Expand their knowledge of the SBIR/STTR application process
