MedTech Strategist Innovation Summit San Diego 2026
Are you attending the MedTech Strategist Innovation Summit in San Diego? NCI SBIR Director of Investor Relations Brittany Connors and Program Director Melissa Li will be available to meet with biotech innovators and potential strategic partners from November 3-5, 2026.
While you're there, be sure to check out the following NCI SBIR-funded companies to consider partnering and learning about the innovative cancer technologies they are developing:
Cordance Medical (CEO Bhaskar Ramamurthy): Developing a portable, non-invasive focused ultrasound platform for precision medicine in the brain. Its proprietary NeuroAccess device, a wearable cap with integrated transducers used with microbubbles, safely opens the blood-brain barrier in an outpatient setting without MRI-suite constraints or disfiguring preparation. This lets tumor biomarkers enter the bloodstream for simple blood-draw diagnosis (SonoBiopsy), its beachhead application in brain cancer, and allows targeted delivery of therapeutics to the brain (SonoScript).
IMVARIA (CEO Joshua Reicher, M.D.): A leading applied clinical AI company delivering FDA-cleared services into everyday practice through a unique centralized model. IMVARIA operates a CMS-approved offering in alignment with the new Software-as-a-Medical-Service (SaMS) pathway, through rapid-adoption, zero integration workflows. The platform's leading assets are Fibresolve and ScreenDx, both in high impact lung disease, driving accelerating national adoption and major patient impact across health systems, payers, and pharma partners. Their pipeline extends this model into multiple areas in oncology, with additional services in active development.
Lumicell (CSO Jorge Ferrer): Commercial-stage company transforming cancer surgery through real-time, fluorescence-guided tumor detection. Its FDA-approved LumiSystem™, combining the LUMISIGHT™ (pegulicianine) plus the Lumicell Direct Visualization System, is the first and only technology enabling surgeons to detect residual cancer directly inside the breast lumpectomy cavity during surgery. Backed by established Medicare and commercial reimbursement, LumiSystem is gaining momentum with implementation at leading cancer institutions. Building on this platform, Lumicell is investigating its fluorescence-guided imaging in gastrointestinal cancers, beginning with esophageal cancer.
Navigation Sciences (CEO Alan Lucas): Developing the NaviSci™ System to address the growing need for precision surgical oncology in the treatment of soft-tissue cancers. The NaviSci™ System is designed to support precise, tissue-conserving tumor resection, including in the lung, liver, and head and neck. By integrating augmented reality (AR), advanced software, and surgical instrumentation, the system enables real-time, in vivo surgical measurement to help surgeons remove tumors more precisely while preserving tissue and function and improving workflow.
