NCI SBIR Program Announces
16 New Funding Opportunities

Are you interested in learning how your small business can tap into the resources of the National Cancer Institute (NCI)? To help meet its goal of eliminating the suffering and death due to cancer, the NCI Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Program has announced 16 new funding opportunities in a range of novel technology areas.

These funding opportunities are available to small businesses to support research and development of anti-cancer agents, biomarkers, nanotechnology, proteomics, pharmacodynamics, and many other areas of interest to the NCI. The deadline for receipt of contract proposals is November 5, 2007.

To participate in the SBIR Program, a company must:

  • Be an organized for-profit U.S. business
  • Have 500 employees or fewer, including affiliates
  • Have a Principal Investigator whose primary employment is with the small business concern at the time of award and for the duration of the project period
  • Small business concern must be:
    • At least 51% U.S.- owned by individuals and independently operated or
    • At least 51% owned and controlled by a for-profit business concern that is at least 51% owned and controlled by one or more individuals
